Amahl and the three wise men
From 20 December to 22 December 2022
Give you and the children a Christmas story with depth and a great musical experience - nice to take with you into the Christmas season.
Amahl and the Three Wise Men is a classic family opera and a Christmas story with well-known references to our cultural history. It's the traditional "holy three kings on their way to the baby Jesus" story with a new twist. The main character is the poor and disabled Amahl, who lives with his mother.
After Amahl and his mother go to bed, there is a knock on the door. The mother asks Amahl to check who is standing outside and thinks the boy is joking when he says that there is not just one, but two or three kings outside. They want to seek shelter for the night and say that they are looking for a child. The three wise men are invited in and it will be a night completely out of the ordinary.
