The Edvard Grieg Choir takes part in the performance of Gustav Holst's Planetene together with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra .
The world's most famous film score.
We can look forward to the theme song, Princess Leia's theme and not least "The Imperial March", also known as Darth Vader's theme in John Williams' music for the Star Wars films.
Prokofiev himself premiered his last piano concerto in Berlin in 1932. The concerto is groundbreaking and virtuosic at the same time as it is intense and ongoing.
The last work of the concert is Gustav Holst's famous Planetene from 1914. The planets themselves are strangely not a theme here. It is about astrology, not astronomy, and it is about the properties of the planets, from Mars - the messenger of war, via Venus - the messenger of peace to the mystic Neptune and many more.
Litton and the orchestra will record Planetene on CD.
