Verdi's masterpiece is in a class of its own.

When he composed his Requiem in 1873 he was 60 years old and at the peak of his career with 25 operas. The Italian composer could not get rid of his dramatic pulse even if he were to write a requiem.

He didn't either. The work contains everything from the most introverted and fragile to the extroverted and fiercely passionate. All elements are masterfully put together – orchestra, choir, soloists, drama, emotions and tension. Everything contributes to the work's immortality and irresistible appeal.

You can only look forward to hearing the season's soloist profile, Lise Davidsen, who has also previously collaborated with Edward Gardner in Verdi's Requiem.

The concerts are organized with generous support from RIKA AS V/Yvonne and Bjarne Rieber

"Exquisite Lise Davidsen the highlight of Verdi's Requiem. Davidsen shone, projecting her bright soprano gloriously above her colleagues, the chorus and the orchestra", Bachtrack.
