Ørjan Hartveit studied in London, and has been a soloist with, among others, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Barokkanerne, BIT20, Copenhagen Soloists, Drottningholm's Barockensemble and Ensemble du Monde.

The repertoire extends from Bach's great vocal works to music by today's composers, and includes operas, oratorios, romances and contemporary music. Random performances include the Judas gospel by Vagn Lid/Haugland at Den Norske Opera & Ballett (Oslo), Lera Auerbach's The Infant Minstrel with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra/Gardner in Grieghallen (Bergen) and Hampson Sisler's Music In The Soulmed Ensemble du Monde/Danieli Merkin Hall ( New York). Hanharogsågjesteten numerous festivals such as Festspillene i Bergen, Hardingtonar, Equinox (Cologne) and Zugrizimai (Vilnius), and gave lied concerts both in the USA and Europe.

Ørjan can be heard on the releases Soundtrack of an Imaginary Opera (Ravello Records) with music by Rebecka Ahvenniemi, Echo of Passion (Onen Records) with songs by Edvard Grieg, Edvard Grieg Kor Sings Grieg (Chandos), Mozart Requiem with Copenhagen Soloists (Micropascal), Geirr Tveitt–Piano Works and Songs (KinnePiano) and Ralph Vaughan Williams – Where Hope is Shining (Albion Records).
